If you’re exploring major Eastern cities in the States this summer, it’s time to grab those Amtrak night owl fares
We love a bargain, who doesn’t? And it’s doubly sweet when you score one on holiday. Now, there’s good news for travellers to the United State of America this summer, especially if they’re exploring the northeast of the country. Amtrak, the national passenger railroad company of the US, has announced that it will help travellers save big with its low-cost Night Owl fares.
The Night Owl fares are on late-night departures between New York City (NYC) and Washington DC (DC). They work for departures between 7 pm and 5 am between a number of stations on the network’s northeast corridor. These stations include NYC, DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia. Prices are low; for example, a one-way ticket between Washington DC and Baltimore, or Philadelphia and Baltimore starts at just $ 5, and a longer trip between NYC and DC at only $ 20. You could also travel from Newark Liberty International Airport and Baltimore International Airport, making the scheme invaluable for passengers with early morning or late night flights.
The Night Owl fares are applicable for coach seats, and passengers have an allowance of two bags and two personal items as part of the ticket. The fare also includes at-seat power outlets and wi-fi access.
