FANS of country music are in for a treat when Rhinestone Cowboy: The Glen Campbell Story comes to Bromsgrove’s Artrix, writes Mia Whitehouse.
The captivating show is billed as a ‘dynamic live music theatre experience’ which celebrates the extraordinary life and timeless music of a country music legend.
The Bromsgrove Community Arts’ stage show is taking place at 7.30pm on Saturday, May 10.
The production takes the audience on a journey through Glen Campbell’s remarkable career, from his humble beginnings to his rise as a Grammy-winning artist and global superstar.
Singer, songwriter and musician Lars Pluto, originally from Georgia USA, will return to the stage to perform some of Glen’s most iconic hits, including ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’, ‘Wichita Lineman’, ‘By the Time I Get to Phoenix’ and many more. The unique show was conceived by Lars who performed it at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh last year to great acclaim.
Lars, who has called England home for many years now, has become a beloved figure in the UK music scene.
His deep connection to the music of Glen Campbell is said to shine through every note and his powerful vocals blend perfectly with the four-piece live band.
With a talented cast of musicians and performers, Rhinestone Cowboy offers a powerful tribute to Glen’s artistry, showcasing the songs and stories that made him an enduring figure in American music history.
It will appeal to his Glen Campbell’s long-time fans and those new to his music.
