The first match of this series will be played on 28 September, but before that South Africa captain Temba Bavuma went on a special trip with the players of his team. During this, the head coach of the South African team was Mark Boucher. Actually, South Africa captain Bavuma and head coach Mark Boucher described this tour as important for South Africa. South Africa’s captain Bavuma and head coach Mark Boucher along with the rest of the team went to Robben Island Museum.

‘This tour strengthened the spirit of achieving the goal’

Significantly, the late South African President Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years on Robben Island Museum. Before leaving for India, South Africa captain Bavuma said that the trip to Robben Island was an inspiration to many of us in the team. The last time I went there I think I was about eight years old, so I didn’t remember much. He further said that this was a new experience for me, as well as it has definitely strengthened the spirit of achieving the goal for me.

The first match will be played on 28 September in Thiruvananthapuram.

South Africa captain Bavuma said that the past few months have not been easy in terms of injury, it was definitely disappointing. He said that going through that phase did not really know when I was going to recover from my elbow. Captain Bavuma says that it was not easy mentally. It is worth noting that the first match against India and South Africa will be played on 28 September in Thiruvananthapuram. Actually, Captain Bavuma was out of the England tour due to an elbow injury, but now he is returning from the series against India.
