Trisha Yearwood Is Guest For Musical Event at Dyess

JONESBORO – The Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home has announced the line-up for the 2025 Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle. Rosanne Cash will host the event and will be joined by Trisha Yearwood, with accompaniment by John Leventhal.The event will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, in Riceland Hall of Fowler Center on the campus of Arkansas State University.“I’m thrilled to be joined at the third annual Sunken Lands Songwriters Circle by one of the greatest voices in country music — Trisha Yearwood. Trisha will be performing some of her own songs, which is a rare privilege for us. John Leventhal will be with us, as always,” said Rosanne Cash.Yearwood is a Grammy, Country Music Association, and Academy of Country Music award-winning country music icon with a career spanning over three decades. She is known for her vocals and multiple hits, having sold over 15 million records and recording 15 studio albums. She will release “The Mirror,” her first album co-writing every song, on July 18.“I’m so excited to be part of this year’s Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle. Sharing the stage with my friend Rosanne, honoring Johnny Cash’s legacy, and supporting such a meaningful place is really special. I’m looking forward to playing some of my new songs and sharing stories in a setting that means so much to country music,” Yearwood said.This event expands Johnny Cash’s musical legacy by recognizing world-class songwriters and performers. Each year, the Songwriting Circle invites artists to share the stage for an evening of music and storytelling. Proceeds benefit ongoing preservation and operation of the site.The Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home preserves the 1935 home of the Cash family in Dyess, Arkansas, listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
