As part of his participation in the annual Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Tunisia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, accompanied by Tunisia’s Ambassador to Washington and his delegation, met with Ethiopis Tafara, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), along with a group of senior experts from the institution.

Samir Abdelhafidh and Alexandre Arrobbio, the World Bank’s Resident Representative for Tunisia, officially signed a financing agreement during a ceremony attended by Ousmane Dione, the World Bank’s Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa region, Tunisia’s Ambassador to Washington, and members of the Tunisian delegation.

The agreement involves a total amount of €96.1 million, equivalent to approximately 319.3 million Tunisian dinars, with a repayment period of 28 years, including an eight-year grace period. The funding will support a project aimed at strengthening higher education, fostering innovation, building resilience to challenges, and improving graduate employability.
