As part of the Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series, the Board of Directors is pleased to present the program “An Evening of Music” with Wendy Larson and Tamara Schneider.
This program was originally scheduled for June 26, but was canceled due to weather.
Larson started playing the fiddle at a very young age. One of nine children, her father taught each of them how to play. Growing up, Larson played in her high school orchestra, the Austin Symphony Orchestra, the family’s band and various other bands along the way. She continues to play the fiddle in different groups in the area.
Schneider started playing the accordion at the young age of 6 or 7 years old. At the age of 15, she fell in love with the guitar. She continues to enjoy playing both instruments to this day. She has played in trios, groups, bands and in church.
Through a love of music, these two musicians met and have become friends.
Come enjoy a variety of music genres — bluegrass, ’50s, waltzes and others.
This program will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Art Center and is free and open to the public.
