UAE-bound air fares cross Dh 2,000 ahead of India-Pakistan clash

DUBAI: Airfares from India, Pakistan, London, GCC nations, and other global cities have hit record highs this weekend, with return economy fares—typically Dh900 to Dh1,200 during the off-season—surging to between Dh1,600 and Dh2,021, according to travel agents.

India to UAE: Economy fares, which had dipped below Dh1,000 in January and early February, have surged.

Lahore to Dubai: Prices have jumped to Dh1,677, up from Dh920 a few weeks ago.

Saudi Arabia to Dubai: Budget carrier Flynas tickets are going for Dh2,917, compared to Dh500 earlier this month.

Doha to Dubai: Fares now stand at Dh1,412, up from Dh1,000.

London to Dubai: Prices have skyrocketed to Dh8,940 (British Airways), making last-minute travel costly for UK-based cricket fans.

For those eyeing Abu Dhabi as a cheaper alternative, the price difference remains minimal.

London to Abu Dhabi: Dh7,245 (Etihad Airways).
Delhi to Abu Dhabi: Dh2,749 (IndiGo).
Lahore to Abu Dhabi: Dh3,242 (Etihad).
Karachi to Abu Dhabi: Dh3,036 (Etihad).
