Ugandan Prime Minister arrived in Turkmenistan to attend UN Conference

Ugandan Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja has arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which is being held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the Caspian Sea coast, IIC reports.

Uganda is one of 32 countries in the world that does not have direct access to the sea. In this regard, the state is interested in developing partnerships in the field of logistics, transport and international trade.

The choice of Turkmenistan as a venue for the LLDC3 conference reflects the country’s international recognition as a neutral state and a reliable platform for multilateral dialogue.

Turkmenistan’s initiatives in the development of transport corridors and sustainable logistics have been approved by the UN General Assembly. The country plays an important role as a link between the regions of Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Middle East.

The Ugandan Prime Minister’s participation in the conference is expected to boost bilateral contacts between Kampala and Ashgabat. The focus is on developing trade links, logistics solutions and sharing experiences in sustainable development.

Robina Nabbanja is among the high-level participants of the forum whose proposals will be taken into account in preparing the final document of the conference.
