Renowned classical musician Vidya Shah entertained the audience with her performance at the event. A reception to celebrate the new bilateral Cultural Cooperation Agreement between India and the UK, hosted by Lindy Cameron CB OBE, British High Commissioner, brought together Lisa Nandy, UK’s Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, India’s Minister for Culture and Tourism. The two dignitaries emphasised the importance of art and culture as a bridge between people and a means to build lasting bonds of friendship.Expressing his gratitude towards Nandy for initiating a new chapter in India-UK’s dynamic cultural relations, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “India and the UK share a deep and storeyed history of cultural exchange. From the graceful movements of Bharatnatyam to the evocative rhythms of contemporary British performing arts and intricate designs of Indian crafts to the bold strokes of British visual arts, our cultural tapestry is woven with threads of mutual admiration and creative synergy.”UK India event
