UMD women’s hockey sweeps series over Syracuse

On Friday afternoon, the University of Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey team started the 2025 season with a series-sweeping 2-1 win over Syracuse at the AMSOIL Arena.

The Bulldogs tallied their two goals thanks to Clara Van Wieren, assisted by Olivia Mobley and Olivia Wallin; and Caitlin Kraemer, assisted by Mary Kate O’Brien and Danielle Burgen. Syracuse would tally their solo point thanks to Rylee McLeod, assisted by Celia Wiegand and Nea Tervonen.

UMD’s goaltender Tindra Holm made 16 saves, allowing one goal. Syracuse’s goaltender Allie Kelley made 54 saves, allowing 2 goals.
