Hyderabad: The Union Cabinet has approved submission of a bid for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2030.

The Cabinet also approved signing of the Host Collaboration Agreement and sanction of grant-in-aid for the Gujarat Government. If India’s CWG 2030 bid is accepted, Ahmedabad will serve as an ideal host city, offering world-class stadiums, cutting-edge training facilities, and a passionate sporting culture.

The city, home to the Narendra Modi Stadium — the largest in the world — has already demonstrated its capability by successfully hosting the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final.

With participation expected from 72 countries, the Games are projected to generate employment, boost tourism, and create professional opportunities across multiple sectors beyond sports.
