UPI-First Travel Booking for Gen Z, ETTravelWorld

UPI-first platform super.money has launched FLIGHTS, a travel booking service tailored for Gen Z users. The feature, integrated with Cleartrip’s platform, allows users to book domestic flights using UPI while receiving a 5 per cent reward that stacks with existing offers.

With FLIGHTS, super.money aims to move beyond simple transactions, positioning UPI as a tool for higher-value, experience-led spending. The company says this is a step towards bridging the benefits gap between credit card rewards and UPI convenience.

Gen Z preferences appear to be central to the launch. According to Cleartrip data, this generation leads in UPI use and increasingly chooses experiences like solo travel while avoiding debt. super.money’s offering responds to that shift, allowing users to book flights without credit dependency but still enjoy the benefits usually tied to credit cards.

Prakash Sikaria, Founder and CEO of super.money, said, “With ‘FLIGHTS,’ we are embedding value directly into travel bookings on UPI. This reflects our larger vision to make UPI not just about daily spends but about enabling life’s bigger moments too.”

Cleartrip also highlighted a behavioural change in its customer base. Manjari Singhal, Chief Business and Growth Officer at Cleartrip, said, “This trend is even more pronounced among Gen Z travellers, who are drawn to the ease, speed, and debt-free nature of UPI transactions.”

The launch comes as UPI transactions make up 85 per cent of India’s digital payments. With travel increasingly seen as a lifestyle choice rather than a luxury, FLIGHTS reinforces super.money’s aim to be a one-stop, rewards-first ecosystem for new-age consumers.
