Variations on a Musical Theme at Cliffe Castle Museum

Variations on a Musical Theme takes place at the popular Bradford Council-run museum on Saturday, April 26, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

The free event will explore the many links that the Butterfield family had to music and musicians.

Cliffe Castle was originally built in the 1880s as the home of Victorian millionaire and textile manufacturer Henry Isaac Butterfield, and was a showpiece of international art and French decoration and the scene of many glittering parties and society gatherings.

During the event, people will see the various references to music around the building and have a chance to view close-up unusual musical instruments within the collections.
