Varun Dhawan & Pooja Hegde Begin Shooting in Rishikesh?

When the project was revealed last year, it was reported that Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan were teaming up once again for a comedy-drama that stays true to David Dhawan’s signature style of filmmaking. Even the film’s title is a giveaway, aligning with the lighthearted entertainers the veteran filmmaker has crafted in the past. The title, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, is inspired by the popular song “Ishq Sona Hai” from Biwi No. 1, featuring Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen. Now, the latest updates suggest that the team has kicked off filming today in Rishikesh.

According to a Pinkvilla report, an industry insider revealed that Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde will be in Rishikesh for a three-day shoot, during which they will film a river rafting sequence. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani, and reports suggest that another female lead is being added to the cast, with Mrunal Thakur being considered for the role.

While discussing the film last year, sources close to the project mentioned that the quirky title aligns with David Dhawan’s vision, describing the film as a fun-filled family entertainer. “David Dhawan has cracked a fresh and original concept and is confident about recreating the magic of comedies on the big screen once again,” said a source.

The film originally began production in July 2024 and has now resumed filming. “Varun is shooting today with Maniesh Paul and Kubbra Sait. The entire ensemble cast will come together as the production progresses.
