Venerable appoints Alvites VP, Head of Audit and Ellis as VP, Compliance

Venerable, owner and manager of legacy variable annuity business, has announced the appointment of George Alvites and Angie Ellis as Vice President, Head of Audit and Vice President, Compliance, respectively.

The firm also announced the promotion of Susan Clark and Alexandra Findleton to Vice President roles.

Alvites brings to his new role two decades of experience in the insurance and financial industries and will be accountable for managing day-to-day responsibilities for the internal audit function.

As VP, Head of Audit, he will manage the internal audit function, lead a team to execute audits, including evaluating controls, review compliance, procedures and regulations, as well as reviewing testing, and reporting results to senior leadership, external audit partners, and the audit committee.

Prior to joining Venerable, Alvites spent time in various assurance and advisory leadership roles with Prudential Financial, General Electric Capital Corporation, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd., and Ernst & Young,

As VP, Compliance, Ellis will be responsible for directing multiple compliance functions and provide strategic guidance to leadership across the organisation to ensure comprehensive adherence of all products, procedures, contracts, and services to applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and internal standards.

Prior to this appointment Ellis played a key role in supporting the broker-dealer compliance program at Athene. Her extensive background encompasses nearly two decades within the insurance sector, including a variety of compliance roles held at Venerable and its predecessor entities.

Susan Clark, who has nearly 20 years of experience at Venerable and its predecessor companies, has been promoted to Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner.

During her tenure at the company she has served HR roles at ING and Voya. in her new role, she will continue to partner with functional leaders at Venerable, providing strategic consulting on HR issues, and direct HR programs, procedures, and practices such as talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, change management, and employee relations.

Alexandra Findleton has been promoted to Vice President, Corporate Development. In her new role, she will continue to manage the underwriting and execution of reinsurance and merger and acquisition opportunities as well as source and evaluate strategic opportunities to improve the risk profile and economics of Venerable’s business.

She began her career at Oliver Wyman, developing insurance liability models and technology to support annuity sales and policy administration for life insurance clients.
