Thalaivan Thalaivii, the recently released Tamil film starring actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, is currently running in theatres, with getting loud responses. Written and directed by filmmaker Pandiraaj, the film witnessed a good jump at the box office earnings.

With family dramas getting more good responses among audience, Thalaivan Thalaivii, the recently released Tamil film has found its audience. The film hit theatres on July 25. As per Sacnilk report, the film collected around Rs 4.5 crore on day one, but saw a significant growth on the second day with Rs 6.75 crore on the second day, earning nearly double.

The film’s total collection so far stands at Rs 11.52 crore. With the weekend yet to get over, and the Telugu version set to release on August 2 as Sir Madam, the earnings might see increase in the coming days, especially since the film is resonating well with B and C centre audience. Thalaivan Thalaivii is directed by Pandiraaj, and it is his comeback to direction after nearly three years since the release of Suriya film Etharkkum Thunindhavan.

The film revolves around a couple who get married with their lives soon turning sour with their constant fights, bickering and dislike towards each other. The rest of the film is about how the duo gets back together. It is Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s second collaboration after their Malayalam film 191a.

It is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and also features Yogi Babu, Mynaa Nandhini, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan and others. The technical crew includes music by Santhosh Narayanan, M. Sukumar cranking the camera, Pradeep E Ragav handling the edits. The post-theatrical streaming rights of Thalaivan Thalaivii have been bagged by Prime Video.
