VinFast Debuts in India with Launch of Made-in-India Electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7

VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle company has officially introduced its luxury electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7 in India. The entry of the company into the emerging EV market in India is to help India transition to sustainable mobility and make VinFast a major player in the Indian EV market.

The VF 6 and VF 7 have been designed based on the expectations of Indian customers with features such as long distance, high safety technology and high comfortability. VinFast Asia CEO Pham Sanh Chau states that these cars are produced by Indians, and to Indians.

The VF 6 is a small electric SUV that has a 59.6 kWh battery, giving it an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km, and can be charged to 70 percent in under 25 minutes. The bigger VF 7 SUV is available with two battery packs, and has a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. The Wind version of the VF 7 with a 70.8 kWh battery has an ARAI-approved range of 532 km.

The VINFast plan in India involves the establishment of a full ecosystem including the collaboration in financing, charging, and after-sales services. By 2025, the company is scheduled to have 35 dealer touchpoints and 26 workshops in 27 Indian cities. The VF 6 and VF 7 will be manufactured in VinFast state of the art manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu which is strategically positioned to cater to the domestic and international markets.
