Vinfast enters India with VF6, VF7 — offering Industry-First 10-year warranty – Car News

Vinfast has collaborated with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to help establish a nationwide network for charging and after-sales services.

Vinfast has finally set foot in India, launching its first two vehicles in the form of VF6 and VF7. The electric SUVs made their India debuts back at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier in January this year. Pre-bookings for the SUVs began in July this year at a token amount of Rs 11,000. 

These SUVs are being locally assembled via CKD kits at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India where Vinfast has set up its production facility. Besides the prices of each vehicle, the biggest highlights by VinFast is the 10-year comprehensive warranty for the vehicles which is a first in the industry.

As of now, Vinfast plans to establish its retail and after-sales presence in 27 cities across the country which includes 35 dealer touchpoints and 26 workshops by the end of CY2025. Here’s a brief overview of both VF7 and VF6 offered by Vinfast in India.

Vinfast VF6: Price, Specs, & Features

Vinfast is offering the VF6 in three variants namely Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity with prices starting from Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering the VF6 is a 59.6 kWh battery pack that delivers an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km. This battery sends power to a front-wheel driven electric motor.

The Earth variant produces 130 kW power and 250 Nm torque, whereas the Wind and Wind Infinity variants raise the output to 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. As for performance, the VF6 can accelerate 0–100 kmph in 8.9 seconds. Using an ultra-fast DC charger, the battery could be rejuvenated from 10–70% in just 25 minutes. It gets  a 2,730 mm wheelbase and 190 mm ground clearance.

In terms of features, the Vinfast VF6 comes loaded with amenities such as rain-sensing wipers, seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, 360-degree camera, cruise control, 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, six-speaker audio system, multiple drive and regen modes, connected car tech, auto LED projector headlamps with auto levelling, and more importantly Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Vinfast VF7: Price, Specs, & Features

The Vinfast VF7 is a slightly larger SUV with a length exceeding 4.5 metres and a 2,840 mm wheelbase, The VF 7 is offered in five variants — Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity with prices starting from Rs 20.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with two battery options and drivetrain choices between FWD and AWD.

The VF 7 Earth variant is equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery that delivers 130 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. It supports fast charging from 10–70% in just 24 minutes. Key features include black vegan leather upholstery, a coloured HUD, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone AC, a powered driver seat, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The VF7 Wind offers a larger 70.8 kWh battery, producing 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. Additional highlights include ventilated seats, a powered tailgate, premium mocca brown interiors, an 8-speaker audio system, ADAS Level 2 with adaptive cruise control, and a driver monitoring system.

The VF7 Sky takes performance further with a dual-motor AWD setup that generates 260 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.8 seconds. For added luxury, the Infinity trims (Wind Infinity and Sky Infinity) introduce a panoramic fixed glass roof.
