New Delhi: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s much-anticipated movie, The Delhi Files, has now been renamed as ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’. The announcement was made via the Kashmir Files filmmakers’ account on X (formerly Twitter). The trailer of the movie is scheduled to release on Thursday (June 12).

Originally, the movie was announced as part of his “files” trilogy, following the blockbuster hit The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. The third instalment, The Delhi Files, has been one of the highly anticipated films of the year. However, it seems that now the focus has been shifted to Bengal now.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri wrote, “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: The Delhi Files is now The Bengal Files. Teaser coming this Thursday, 12 June 2025 at 12 PM. In cinemas on 05 September 2025.”

According to the Money Control report, the change in the title is due to public demand and hence filmmakers decided to reposition the movie.

About The Delhi Files

Earlier this year, a teaser for the film was released, showing Mithun Chakraborty in a serious look. The movie also features Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. It is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. The movie revolves around the communal violence in undivided Bengal during the 1940s. It is scheduled to release on September 5, 2025.
