Vue Harrow to show classic anime films ahead of new release
Vue Harrow will show a series of anime films before tickets go on sale for the much-anticipated Demon Slayer – The Movie: Infinity Castle.
The sequel, arriving on September 12, follows demon slayer trio Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke in their latest action-packed adventure.
For those eager for an early anime experience, Vue Harrow will screen two 4K remastered films from director Mamoru Hosoda.
These include Summer Wars and Wolf Children, offering both longtime fans and newcomers a fresh perspective on these classics.
Summer Wars, showing on Tuesday (August 5), is about a shy maths genius who accidentally releases a rogue AI, threatening the world’s digital infrastructure.
As he tries to solve the chaos, he becomes involved with his friend’s lively family.
Wolf Children returns on August 17, telling the tale of a young woman raising two half-human, half-wolf children.
The story, spanning over a decade, explores themes of motherhood, identity, and acceptance.
Meanwhile, the eagerly-awaited Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing will be shown on August 31.
In this new chapter of the Hatsune Miku phenomenon, fans will meet a version of the famous virtual idol who has lost her singing ability.
Set in a world where music shapes reality, Miku finds her voice again through friendship, creativity, and emotional resilience.

James Kinsella, general manager at Vue Harrow, said: “The anime fandom continues to grow here in the UK, and we’re proud to be part of that community.
“Studios put their heart into every frame – from the breathtaking animation to the thoughtful scripts, musical scores, and emotional depth – and we recognise that watching anime isn’t just about the visuals on screen; it’s about the atmosphere, the sound, and the feeling of being completely immersed in a story.
“That’s why we’re so excited to be screening these films as they were meant to be seen – on the big screen.”
