What do young hockey players do when the ice goes out in the arena? They play ball hockey!

A strong turnout and enthusiastic support from parents marked the end of this year’s Spring Ball Hockey season in Powassan, where local kids played twice weekly over five weeks.

Once again, the Municipality of Powassan organized a successful Ball Hockey spring season.

Eighty young players signed up, in two age groups, and played twice a week for a five-week session.

As with most endeavours in a small town, ball hockey would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of parent volunteers. These dads cheered from the benches, kept the players moving, and organized the chaos.

Special mention goes to Nathan Stewart who coordinated the teams again this year.

The Spring Ball Hockey Session concluded last week with some final games, a BBQ, and promises to meet for some street ball hockey next week.
