At SBC Summit Lisbon 2025, Oddsgate highlighted its vision of where the iGaming industry is heading. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and compliance, the company showcased how technology can bridge established and emerging markets, from next-generation platform architecture to the integration of crypto-first models.

In this interview with Yogonet, Oddsgate CEO Tiago Almeida reflects on the company’s key moments in Lisbon — including strategic partnerships, the launch of its industry book, and participation in the “Crypto Casinos & Emerging Markets” panel — while offering insights into the future of iGaming, regulatory adaptability, and how a people-first culture continues to fuel the company’s growth.

What were Oddsgate’s key objectives at SBC Summit Lisbon 2025? What kind of experience or insights were visitors able to access when they engaged with your team at Stand A445?

Events like the SBC Summit Lisbon are invaluable opportunities to highlight what makes Oddsgate unique, reinforce trusted partnerships, and, of course, build new connections that drive the industry forward. But this year was truly special because it wasn’t just about presenting ourselves; it was about bringing our partners and clients into the spotlight with us.

At Stand A445, we wanted every visitor to experience what it means to be part of the Oddsgate ecosystem. From the exclusive football memorabilia in collaboration with The Power Plugin (TPP), to the live RevPanda podcast broadcast directly from our stand, we created an atmosphere that was both dynamic and engaging. We are also proud to present our new book, a project developed in collaboration with leading experts and influential voices from across the industry, which has already sparked meaningful conversations.

Another highlight was celebrating our strategic partnership with BetConstruct, which represents a significant step in expanding our capabilities and delivering even greater value to our clients. One of the most memorable moments was honoring an operator who reached a milestone, which deserves recognition and celebration.

So, the real takeaway from Oddsgate’s presence at SBC Lisbon was clear: growth is stronger when it’s shared. We like to talk about innovation and collaboration, but it’s even better to live it. We ensure that our partners, clients, and friends grow alongside us. That’s the insight and experience visitors had when they joined us at Stand A445.

You showcased your next-generation iGaming platform in Lisbon. What do you see as the defining features that set Oddsgate’s technology apart from other providers, and how are these innovations helping operators strengthen their position in both established and emerging markets?

What sets Oddsgate apart is the way we combine rigor with adaptability, technology with strategy. Our architecture ensures the highest standards of compliance and reliability, essential in established markets, while also delivering the flexibility, personalization, and market-specific knowledge operators need to succeed in new territories.

By designing a platform that is modular, data-driven, and open to integration, we empower our partners to scale on their own terms, strengthening their market position not by chasing trends but by focusing on what truly works for them.

It’s not just about features, though innovations like the Power Plugin, which elevates CRM and gamification, clearly reflect our DNA. The real differentiator lies in giving operators the confidence of a platform that evolves with them, adapts to their strategy, and is built for sustainable growth.

At Oddsgate, we also put the end user at the center. That means delivering experiences that are safe, personalized, and engaging, without ever compromising on responsibility or transparency in regulated environments. This balance, anchored in trust and innovation aligned with compliance, enables our partners not only to compete but also to shape the future of both mature and emerging markets.

Crypto integration is one of your core focus areas. From your perspective, what unique opportunities do crypto-first casinos unlock for the industry, and how does Oddsgate navigate the regulatory and operational complexities that often come with them?

Crypto-first casinos are unlocking some of the most exciting shifts we’ve seen in iGaming in years. I’d say three main opportunities are driving that change.

The first is financial inclusion at scale. In many emerging markets, especially across Africa and Latin America, mobile connectivity is far ahead of traditional banking infrastructure. Crypto enables players in these regions to join global gaming platforms with nothing more than a smartphone and a digital wallet – no credit card or bank account is required. That level of accessibility is opening doors to entirely new audiences.

The second is speed and trust. Instant payouts are revolutionizing the player experience. When withdrawals take minutes instead of days, it transforms the relationship between operators and their customers, fostering transparency and confidence in a very tangible way.

Additionally, transparency through blockchain. Provably fair gaming – where results can be verified on-chain – addresses one of the industry’s oldest trust challenges. It’s particularly powerful in markets where regulation is still developing and oversight remains limited.

At Oddsgate, we approach crypto with a compliance-first mindset. That begins with regulatory agility – we actively engage with policymakers and maintain multi-jurisdictional licenses to stay ahead of evolving frameworks such as Curaçao’s 2025 reforms and the EU’s MiCA regulations.

Our KYC and AML systems are designed to anticipate, not just meet, regulatory expectations. Then comes payment diversification. We combine the efficiency of crypto with the stability of fiat and stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. This approach gives players both freedom of choice and financial stability when needed.

Finally, we emphasize balance. Our hybrid model enables users to choose how they want to play – either with crypto or fiat – while protecting operators from volatility and ensuring long-term sustainability. Ultimately, crypto isn’t a marketing gimmick for us, but the foundation for a more transparent, accessible, and trustworthy iGaming ecosystem.

You spoke on the panel “Crypto Casinos & Emerging Markets – The Boom Continues.” Which regions do you believe are most primed for crypto-driven betting, and what strategic factors should operators consider before entering these markets?

Southeast Asia – especially the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The Asia-Pacific region emerged as the fastest-growing region for cryptocurrency activity, with a 69% year-over-year growth rate, according to Chainalysis’ 2025 Global Adoption Index.

Mobile-first demographics, e-wallet dominance, and surging crypto adoption in emerging Asian markets create strong fundamentals for crypto betting platforms. The regulatory landscape is fragmented, requiring careful navigation, but the market size makes it worthwhile.

Oddsgate emphasizes multi-jurisdiction compliance and scalability. How do you balance the need to adapt locally while still offering a unified, global platform for operators?

At Oddsgate, we see compliance not as a challenge, but as a core strength of our platform. On the one hand, we recognize that every market has its own unique cultural, legal, and regulatory requirements, and our technology is designed to adapt seamlessly to these local needs.

On the other hand, operators need the reliability and efficiency of a unified global platform, and that is precisely what we deliver. Our modular architecture and compliance framework enable us to localize without compromising our overall framework.

This means that whether we are responding to Brazil’s evolving regulations, aligning with the strictest European standards, or preparing for new jurisdictions, our partners can scale with security and efficiency.

Adaptability for us goes beyond technology. It is a principle that guides our approach to each market as a distinct ecosystem. We consider cultural nuances, regulatory changes, local partnerships, and user behavior to ensure that our solutions are relevant and sustainable.

This combination of global consistency with local depth is what enables operators to expand into regions such as LATAM, Africa, and Asia with confidence, knowing they have a platform built to respond to complexity while supporting long-term growth.

Oddsgate was shortlisted for two SBC Awards – Rising Star in Sports Betting Innovation and Employer of the Year. What do you think has fueled this momentum in such a competitive space? And beyond technology, how does your people-first culture translate into stronger performance and innovation for your partners?

Being shortlisted for two SBC Awards (Rising Star in Sports Betting Innovation and Employer of the Year) was a strong recognition of what we stand for at Oddsgate. We attribute this achievement to a disciplined and sustainable approach to growth, combined with a critical and forward-looking mindset in everything we do, whether it’s how we manage internally, how we collaborate with partners, or how we position ourselves in the broader market.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our team. Our momentum is built on a structured, committed group of people we can fully trust. Professionals who embrace every project, take ownership of challenges, and consistently deliver their best. That people-first culture is what fuels both our innovation and our performance, ultimately strengthening the value we provide to our partners.

We are very aware of the prestige of the SBC Awards and the intense level of competition that defines our industry. Even though we didn’t take home the trophy, being among such an extraordinary shortlist of companies is already an honor.

For us, this recognition reinforces our identity and motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in iGaming.
