Celebrations are underway inside Goodison Park as Everton played their final Premier League game at the stadium. While Everton won the game 2-0, there were many tears from the loyal followers of the club. It is time to celebrate the ‘Grand Old Lady’ now and the whole stadium have remained in their seats to watch the ceremony which the club are putting on – ‘End of an Era’.

The first singer to entertain the Goodison crowds was Ellis Murphy. The singer has amassed a cult following with his timeless brand of storytelling through his songs. His songs are both current and fresh but also nod towards a a time when troubadours were popular. Ellis has played in coffee shops, live music clubs, castles and concert halls around the UK since his debut performance in 2022,

Most recently her performed a string of bi-monthly shows entitled ‘See What I See’ as well as various other appearances in between. The performance from Ellis came as a surprise to many fans inside Goodison with a confused look the common expression on the faces of many,

Evertonian Ellis performed “It’s a Grand Old Team to Play For” while playing the guitar and harmonica. He also performed Elton John’s ‘I guess that’s why they call it the blues’.

On June 6, 2025 the singer plays his first headline show of the year in the @liverpool_philharmonic music room. Explore Liverpool reported two years ago: “It’s his social media you’ll be seeing all over the place anytime someone mentions to you ‘the new scouse Bob Dylan’. But his influence carries on from even more greats like Woody Guthrie, Frank Zapper along with Simon and Garfunkel.

As the celebrations unfold inside Goodison, there will be more guest presenters, appearances from current and former players, live musical performances and specially-curated big screen content that captures the spirit, memories and history of the stadium.
