Who is Manish Tiwary? Next Nestlé India Chairman and MD  – Industry News

Manish Tiwary has been appointed as the next Managing Director of Nestlé India, effective August 1, after Suresh Narayan will retire from the position on 31st July 2025.

The decision to appoint Tiwary as the next chairman followed a recommendation from Nestlé S.A. and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC). His appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the company’s upcoming 66th Annual General Meeting.

Who is Manish Tiwary, the next Chairman & MD of Nestlé India?

Tiwary joined Nestlé India on February 1, 2025, as Managing Director (Designate) and was designated as Key Managerial Personnel from 24th April 2025. He will take full charge on 1st August 2025.

Tiwary brings close to three decades of experience in leadership roles across global corporations. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and an MBA from IIM Bangalore. Before joining Nestlé India, he briefly worked at Nestlé S.A. as a Special Project Manager for the Asia-Oceania-Africa region.

He is best known for his leadership at Amazon India, where he served as Country Manager for over eight years. He also spent 20 years at Unilever, managing various functions across India, the Gulf, and North Africa.

The Board believes Tiwary’s vast expertise in sales, marketing, and operations makes him a strong fit to lead Nestlé India in the coming years.

Board reshuffle and reappointments

At the 66th AGM, shareholders will also vote on the reappointment of Satish Srinivasan, Whole-Time Director, who is retiring by rotation. He has offered himself for reappointment and will continue as Executive Director – Technical.

The Board has also approved a second five-year term for P.R. Ramesh as Independent Non-Executive Director, from 1st July 2025 to 30th June 2030. His reappointment is based on his performance, contributions in Board meetings, and continued compliance with regulatory standards.

The company has confirmed that there were no director resignations during FY 2024–25 and that no pecuniary transactions occurred between the company and its non-executive directors beyond standard sitting fees and reimbursements.

Suresh Narayanan helped Nestlé India overcome the Maggi crisis  

Suresh Narayanan, on the other hand, led Nestlé India as Chairman and Managing Director for over 26 years and will retire from his role effective 31st July 2025.

He took over as Nestlé India Managing Director in 2015 and is credited with turning around the company’s flagship instant noodles brand, Maggi, after the food safety authority FSSAI had called for a ban on the snack brand.
