ALPENA — Alpena County Library will host a free lunchtime concert, Words and Music with Dr. Tom, from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Tom Ferguson, also known as “Dr. Tom,” will play piano and entertain the audience. His set is titled “A cartoonist, a helicopter pilot, and a German student walk into a bar…” (and 15 other songs).
Words and Music is a monthly excursion into piano instrumentals and vocals and entertaining mini-monologues drawing on jazz and swing and pop and western swing and the passing scene in the mid-20th century. Your toes will tap and your ears will smile. This concert is extraordinarily laid back. Bring a friend. Bring a lunch. Bring an expectation you’ll have a truly entertaining noon hour.
Words and Music is held on the second Wednesday of every month. Admission is free. If you enjoy enough to feed the tip jar, every penny will go to the library’s READ adult literacy program.
