World Bank and Agriculture Ministry Host Roundtable with Agripreneurs Across Sierra Leone

The World Bank in Sierra Leone, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, has hosted a roundtable discussion involving over 20 agripreneurs from various value chains across Sierra Leone.

The collaborative event, supported by the Food System Resilience Program, sought to identify key obstacles faced by agripreneurs in their pursuit of food sovereignty and inclusive economic growth.

The roundtable presented a vital platform for young agripreneurs to engage directly with key officials, including the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka, and the World Bank Country Manager, Dr. Abdu Muwonge.

During the discussions, participants highlighted critical issues impacting their industries and proposed actionable solutions for consideration under the Feed Salone program.

Participants shared their experiences and challenges, exploring barriers that hinder their growth and competitiveness, particularly in a sector that is fundamental to the nation’s economy.

The interaction provided a vast opportunity for collaboration, as agripreneurs identified innovative strategies that align with Feed Salone’s Pillar-6 objectives, which focus on empowering women and youth in agriculture.
