World Bank, fisheries dept inspect cage culture | Ranchi News
Hazaribag: A joint team of senior officials of World Bank, the French Development Agency, NCDC (National Co-operative Development Corporation) and Jharkhand State Fisheries Department inspected the cage culture activities being conducted at Bundu located at Telaiya reservoir under Barhi sub-division of Hazaribag district on Saturday. The team also interacted with farmers and provided positive assurance on demand for seed and feed production unit.The team, led by Julian Million, senior fisheries industry standard specialist, World Bank, comprises of Orphie Sillard and Nidhi Batra from AFD, IA Siddiqui from Indian govt and Masoom Waheed from National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).The objective of the visit was to evaluate the progress of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Yojana (PMMKSY) and assess the economic condition of fish farmers. This activity has been identified under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) scheme, through which local fish farmers are being made economically strong and technically capable.
