World Bank to provide US$84m in aid to Ukraine

The World Bank will provide Ukraine with US$84 million under the HOPE project.

Details: Shmyhal noted that the funds will be used to provide compensation under eRecovery, a Ukrainian government programme of financial assistance for rebuilding housing damaged by hostilities.

The prime minister noted that over 96,000 Ukrainian families have received financial support from the state.

Background: In early April, the Cabinet of Ministers (Ukrainian government) decided to raise €100 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank to pay compensation to owners of destroyed housing under the eRecovery programme.
