Wrentham man charged for filming Lowe’s employees in bathroom
An 18-year-old is facing charges after allegedly filming two employees in a bathroom at a Milford Lowe’s last month, police announced Thursday.
John Kelley of Wrentham is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 5 on two counts of photographing an unsuspecting nude person, according to court records. He is accused of filming two different male employees at separate times on June 27, the Milford Police Department said in a statement.
Employees at the Lowe’s, located at 40 Fortune Boulevard, reported seeing Kelley enter the stalls beside them and place his phone on the floor against his leg to record beneath the stall dividers, according to the statement.
The employees were able to identify Kelley from surveillance footage, the statement said. Police later tracked him down by tracing the Uber he used to leave the store.
According to a police report included in court records, Kelley admitted during questioning that he recorded the employees but said he “no longer had the videos.”
The report also stated that when Kelley was 14, he was accused of a similar incident at a Cumberland Farms in his hometown, though no charges were filed. At that time, he told Wrentham police that he “had a problem” with taking photos of people in bathrooms.
Additionally, Kelley’s father told officers he is aware of his son’s behavior and is “currently seeking counseling” to provide him with support, the report said.
