XLRI Jamshedpur 10th best management college in India
Jamshedpur, Sep 4: XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, has once again made the city proud by securing a place among India’s top 10 management institutes in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2025. Released by the Ministry of Education, XLRI has been ranked 10th in the management category, reaffirming its position as one of the country’s leading B-schools.
In 2024, XLRI was the 9th best management college in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework.

The NIRF 2025 rankings, the 10th edition of India’s higher education assessment, were unveiled by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. This year’s rankings cover 17 categories, evaluating institutions across parameters like Teaching, Learning, Research, Graduation Outcomes, Inclusivity, and Perception.
A record 7,692 unique institutions participated this year, submitting 14,163 applications across different categories. Of these, 4,045 applied in the Overall category, 1,584 in Engineering, and 4,030 in General Degree Colleges. The response marks the largest participation since the inception of the framework in 2016.
In the Management category, IIM Ahmedabad topped the list, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode. IIT Delhi secured the fourth position, while IIM Lucknow and IIM Mumbai stood at fifth and sixth respectively. IIM Calcutta was ranked seventh, IIM Indore eighth, and MDI Gurugram ninth, with XLRI Jamshedpur completing the top 10.
In the Overall category, IIT Madras retained the No. 1 rank for the seventh consecutive year (2019–2025), while also continuing its dominance in Engineering for the 10th year in a row. IISc Bengaluru maintained the second spot, while IIT Bombay rose to third, pushing IIT Delhi to fourth. IIT Kanpur stayed steady at fifth, followed by IIT Kharagpur (6th) and IIT Roorkee (7th). AIIMS Delhi, JNU, and BHU rounded off the top 10.
Other highlights include IIT Roorkee topping the Architecture and Planning category, IISc Bengaluru continuing as the leading University, and Jadavpur University, Kolkata, securing the first position among State Public Universities.
Speaking at the launch, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the rankings reflect the evolving landscape of Indian higher education, showcasing institutions that are driving innovation, quality, and global competitiveness.
With its place among the top 10 management schools, XLRI Jamshedpur has further cemented its legacy as a premier institution shaping leaders for India and the world.
