Zamin Foundation, JU host Dogri visual show ‘Chanchalo’

Jammu, Aug 22: Zamin Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Jammu (JU)’s Institute of Music and Fine Arts, presented “Chanchalo,” a visual Dogri show by theatrical group Rangyug, highlighting efforts to preserve and promote Jammu and Kashmir’s regional languages.

As statement of the Zamin Foundation issued here said that this innovative event, held at JU auditorium, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir through the medium of the Dogri language and visual storytelling, reaffirming Zamin Foundation’s unwavering commitment to revitalising and promoting regional and local languages across the region.

This collaboration between Zamin Foundation, an organisation dedicated to cultural preservation; Sheikh Idrees, Chairman of Zamin Foundation, present at the occasion; and the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, a leading academic institution in the region, marks a critical step in ongoing efforts to safeguard Jammu and Kashmir’s diverse linguistic identity.

The event attracted a diverse audience of students, academics, artists, and cultural enthusiasts, all gathered to appreciate the artistic expression of Dogri culture.

Zamin Foundation has established itself as a leading advocate for the preservation and promotion of regional languages in Jammu and Kashmir.

Recognising the urgent need to protect linguistic diversity against the pressures of globalisation and language homogenisation, the foundation has launched multiple initiatives aimed at documenting, revitalising, and celebrating local languages such as Dogri, Kashmiri, Gojri, and Pahari.
