Zendaya fronts Louis Vuitton resort 2025 campaign with surreal Italian Riviera visuals
Louis Vuitton has unveiled its Resort 2025 campaign starring Zendaya, with visuals that depict the actress towering over idyllic Italian coastal scenes. Captured by renowned photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the campaign will officially launch in select print publications on Sunday, and on Louis Vuitton’s digital channels from May 16.
The campaign features Zendaya styled in scenic landscapes along the Italian Riviera, creating a surreal, oversized presence against beach umbrellas and lounge chairs. Louis Vuitton notes she appears “amidst cinematic scenes,” without revealing how she was superimposed into the surreal landscapes. One standout image shows her in a short black dress with embroidery, leather tong sandals, and her toes almost touching the water, alongside a leather and wicker Capucines bag.
Art direction was led by Lina Kutsovskaya of BeGood Studios, with Zendaya styled by Law Roach. Hair and makeup were handled by Ursula Stephen and Ernesto Casillas respectively. Louis Vuitton says the visuals reflect “the desire for travel that makes the resort collection so true to the spirit of Louis Vuitton.”
Nicolas Ghesquière, the brand’s artistic director of women’s collections, originally debuted the Resort 2025 line in May of last year at Park Güell in Barcelona, the famed garden complex designed by Antoni Gaudí.
Zendaya, who gained global acclaim through projects like Euphoria, Dune, and Challengers, became a Louis Vuitton ambassador in 2023. She first represented the brand through a Capucines handbag campaign and later featured in the brand’s revived collaboration with artist Takashi Murakami, bringing back the multicolour monogram first launched in 2003.
