New Delhi: Because of the political differences between India and Pakistan, the cricketing ties between the two nations have taken a bad hit since over a decade. The two Asian giants have cut off all the bilateral cricket ties since a long time and meet rarely in just the big ticket events.

The Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan, may not see the clash between the two nations since India are not willing to travel to the neighbouring country. Something of similar sort happened in last year’s Asia Cup, where the ACC had to include Sri Lanka as the co-host for the tournament since India avoided to travel to Pakistan.

Moin Khan’s blunt warning to India

While Pakistan is busy preparing to host the Champions Trophy in 2025, former player Moin Khan has issued a warning to India over the uncertainty. The former Pakistan player has urged the veteran Indian player like Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar among others to talk to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and tell them to keep politics away from cricket.

“Former India cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, etc., should tell their cricket board to keep politics away from cricket. Cricket should not be obstructed by political issues. The fans would love to see India and Pakistan play. It will not only benefit Pakistan, but overall cricket will be benefited,” said the former Pakistan skipper.

Apart from this, the former player also urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to adopt a firm stand if India continue to not confirm their participation for the event. Moin also stressed on the fact that the International Cricket Council (ICC) ensure that India stick to the commitments. “India ought to honour their commitments with the ICC. And if they do not come, then Pakistan should reconsider their decision to participate in any future events slated to be held in India,” Moin added.
