BATON ROUGE –The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) and the Louisiana High School Officials Association (LHSOA) are proud to announce the inaugural recognition of multi-sport officials for their dedication and service during the 2023-24 school year. This new initiative celebrates the commitment and versatility of officials who contribute to the success of multiple sports across Louisiana.

As part of this recognition, each of the approximately 800 multi-sport officials from the 2023-24 season will receive a commemorative flipping coin. The coin features Louisiana’s rich cultural heritage, with a blue and black design showcasing a crawfish on one side and a fleur-de-lis on the other. The LHSAA logo is present on the blue side and the LHSOA logo is visible on the other. The coin serves not only as a token of appreciation but also as a symbol of the officials’ essential role in the state’s athletic programs.

“We are thrilled to launch this annual recognition for our multi-sport officials,” said Lee Sanders, LHSAA Assistant Executive Director. “Their dedication to multiple sports is truly commendable, and we want to show our appreciation for their tireless efforts. The commemorative coin is a small token of our gratitude for their invaluable contributions to high school athletics in Louisiana.”

The LHSAA looks forward to continuing this tradition and celebrating the exceptional individuals who make high school sports possible across the state.
