‘Nostalgia influencer’ and ‘music reactor’ were probably not careers that Nathan Brown envisaged for himself at school. Nevertheless, the Londoner has managed to carve out a career online by listening to well-known songs for the first time, filming his unfiltered reaction and sharing his assessment with viewers.

The ‘first time hearing’ trend has become hugely popular over the last year or so, with many US social media influencers and YouTubers jumping on the bandwagon. Brown has now clocked up over 400,000 YouTube subscribers and three million TikTok followers thanks to his enthusiastic responses to songs by bands and artists as diverse as U2, Pavarotti, Steely Dan, Frank Sinatra and Iron Maiden.
