Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi today. With this, she has become the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Earlier, Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit have held this post. Let us tell you that Atishi is an MLA from Kalkaji assembly seat of South Delhi. Along with Atishi, five ministers of her cabinet also took oath. The names of these ministers are Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and new face Mukesh Ahlawat.

The Governor first administered the oath of office and secrecy to Chief Minister Atishi. After this, other cabinet ministers took oath one by one. Among the cabinet ministers, Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj was the first to take oath, followed by senior party minister Gopal Rai and after this Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, Mukesh Ahlawat took oath one by one.

After resignation, Atishi claimed to form the government

After announcing his resignation two days later, Kejriwal resigned from the post of CM on Tuesday. Along with this, Atishi also presented her claim to run the government as the new Chief Minister of Delhi before the Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. After this, when both the cases reached the President, Atishi got the date of swearing-in as soon as Kejriwal’s resignation was accepted. After this, today on 21 September, Atishi has taken oath along with her five ministers.

Will Atishi break Sushma Swaraj’s record?

Assembly elections in Delhi are to be held in February next year. If everything goes well and Atishi takes over as the Chief Minister of Delhi by next February, she will break the record of former Delhi Chief Minister Sushma Swaraj. In fact, Sushma Swaraj was the CM of Delhi for only 52 days from 12 October 1998 to 3 December 1998. If Atishi completes her term by February, she will be the CM of Delhi for about 5 months. With this, she will set a record of being the CM of Delhi for more days than Sushma Swaraj.

Entry was made in the cabinet after Sisodia went to jail

In the Kejriwal government, Manish Sisodia, MLA from Patparganj seat, was the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi. He had the responsibility of 18 out of the total 33 departments of the government, but he was accused of corruption and had to resign from his post due to going to jail. The party filled his vacant place with Atishi, i.e. Atishi became a part of the cabinet. Along with this, she was also given the command of many departments. She had the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Art Culture and Language, Public Works Department and Ministry of Electricity.

Opposition parties fiercely surrounded Atishi’s target

As soon as her name came up as Kejriwal’s successor, Atishi made a big statement. Opposition parties also criticized her for this. When Atishi’s name came up for the post of CM, Atishi called Kejriwal her guru and leader. After this, she said that her only aim is to make Kejriwal the CM again. Since then, many statements have come from the opposition party BJP, in which she was given names like dummy CM and puppet CM.
