Stanford University: 14 From Northeast In Stanford University List Of World’s Top 2% Scientists | Guwahati News

Guwahati/Dimapur: Four faculty members from Gauhati University, six from NIPER Guwahati, three from Nagaland University and one from University of Science and Technology Meghalaya have been recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists according to Stanford University’s latest list.
Stanford University’s list uses various citation metrics, including the h-index, co-authorship, and adjusted citation counts, to ensure a comprehensive assessment of research contributions.It serves as a standardized benchmark for recognizing scientists who have had a profound impact in their fields.
Prof. Prodeep Phukan from the department of chemistry and Prof. Krishna Gopal Bhattacharyya (currently serving at Assam Don Bosco University) from the department of chemistry are listed in the category of career-long data.
Based on citation in a single year (2023), the names of four faculty members from GU have been featured in the recently published list.
They are: Prof. Prodeep Phukan, Prof. Bipan Hazarika from the department of mathematics, Dr Ranjit Thakuria (associate professor) from the department of chemistry and Dr Arabinda Ghosh from the department of botany, now at Tripura University.
