Residential Properties Ltd. expands into Jamestown with Mansions & Manors acquisition
Residential Properties Ltd. (RPL) is expanding into Newport County by acquiring Jamestown-based Mansions & Manors®, an independent brokerage. The merger, set for Jan. 1, 2025, represents RPL’s strategic entry into a new market.
Sally Lapides, RPL’s President and CEO, announced the acquisition, noting the shared values between the two female-founded and run brokerages.
“Gloria and I have taken similar career paths and share an outlook in life and in real estate that has shaped our brands for decades,” Lapides said. “Gloria built, and has sustained, a female-run company that has stayed true to its values, putting client interests first, establishing long-lasting relationships based on trust, and maintaining a belief in strong communities. With the addition of Mansions & Manors® to our 250 agents, RPL is methodically expanding its presence throughout Jamestown, Newport, and neighboring areas of Rhode Island while providing the same level of service which established the reputations of both brokerages from the start.”
The merger combines RPL’s resources and global reach with Mansions & Manors’® 30-year expertise in Newport County and Southern Rhode Island. Gloria Kurz, founder and broker of record at Mansions & Manors®, along with key team members Mark Holland and Maureen Dunn-Packer, will join RPL’s Newport and South County offices.
Kurz is excited about the merger, saying, “My team and I are thrilled to become part of Residential Properties Ltd. As Mansions & Manors® celebrates our 30th year in Rhode Island as an independent boutique firm, I’m excited about our decision to affiliate with Sally Lapides, whose company has deep roots and an abiding commitment to the community. The culture Sally has built on a bedrock of distinct values, a firm philosophy, and rigorous business principles is similar to ours and has stood the test of time”.
Kurtz continued, “It’s bittersweet to leave our base at 7 Ferry Wharf after all these years, but our commitment to Jamestown and our clients remains unchanged. Our buyers and sellers will soon see the positive impact of Residential Properties’ suite of professional services and marketing designed to get results. As we look ahead to a new year and a rapidly changing market, we’re excited to expand our capabilities. Through RPL, we’ll be able to continue our existing business seamlessly, offering the highest level of personalized service enhanced with a fresh competitive edge. This opportunity will be a winning combination for all.”
The acquisition grows RPL’s agent base to 250, and it now has nine local offices across Rhode Island, the Connecticut shoreline, and southeastern and central Massachusetts.
