Man Gains 99,999,900% on Bitcoin After 15-Year

A long-dormant Bitcoin wallet has suddenly become active, moving 50 BTC valued at nearly £4 million after remaining untouched for 15 years—securing an astonishing 99,999,900% return.

Blockchain data from Arkham reveals the transaction occurred on February 2, 2025, piquing the interest of cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

The wallet, which initially mined these BTC in Bitcoin’s early days, has transformed an almost worthless asset into a substantial fortune.

Such movements by early adopters often ignite speculation—could this be an old miner cashing out, a security-related transfer, or something else entirely?

The transaction, recorded in block #882004, originated from address 15RRC…9c6if and was split into two—20 BTC to bc1qew…0adx9 and 29.9999926 BTC to bc1qgj…p3nvye7. Despite the significant sum, the transaction fee was a mere £0.57.

This isn’t the first time a “whale” has stirred after years of inactivity.

Similar movements have been noted before, sometimes linked to early adopters selling, shifting funds for privacy, or even the recovery of lost wallets.

With over a million BTC still locked in dormant wallets, many wonder—who’s next to wake up and shift their fortune?
