Huma Qureshi’s 28-day Cleanse Diet Revealed

Huma Qureshi, known for her acting prowess, is also a promoter of healthy living and body positivity. Having faced body shaming in her early career, the diva has never let that affect her and continues to deliver powerful performances. Huma, who turns 39 today, follows a 28-day detox diet regularly to keep fit and healthy.

Huma, in her previous interviews, has been vocal about her incorporating a healthy lifestyle through food, where she takes small challenges to cleanse her body naturally. On social media, she shares all the food she regularly consumes when she follows the detox diet.

What does Huma’s detox diet look like?

Huma’s detox diet involves completely cutting off:

  • Refined sugar
  • Gluten
  • Alcohol
  • Soda
  • Wheat
  • Processed food

When on this diet, the actress consumes a lot of water for hydration and also adds some hot water with freshly grated ginger and lemon juice in her morning ritual.

For breakfast, Huma eats two poached eggs along with grated Parmesan cheese, steamed broccoli, and grilled tomatoes – both of which are great for digestion and energy. Huma says eggs help her complete her protein requirement for the day and also keep her full, helping curb unnecessary eating of junk food.

Huma takes her midday snack with a tropical green shake – prepared using half a cup of papaya, half a cup of mango, half a banana, a tablespoon of yogurt, a little matcha powder, and some ice. This smoothie is filling and loaded with all the macronutrients you need for the day, which include vitamins, iron, and magnesium. Matcha helps in digestion and weight loss.

For lunch, Huma again believes in clean eating, with foods like avocado, spinach, chickpea, and broad bean salad – all of which are ingredients that are rich in fibre and antioxidants.

For an evening snack, Huma gorges on a fistful of roasted almonds – a powerhouse of antioxidants, which are great for your hair and skin. She also alternates them with a seasonal fruit like apples or oranges. Her dinner includes curried coconut, grilled chicken quinoa, roasted cauliflower, and greens, along with a side of fish.

Huma’s fitness regime

Apart from following the cleanse diet strictly, Huma believes in working out regularly. Her fitness approach is holistic, where she combines yoga, strength training, and Pilates, along with a focus on a nourishing diet. Huma says she emphasises the importance of mental well-being and flexibility through yoga and builds strength and muscle with Pilates and weight training.

Huma is also a master at doing leg workouts. In an earlier interview with Tweak India, she challenged that no one could beat her when it comes to a leg workout. “I can beat anyone. Any guys at the leg workout game? Open challenge,” she said. Leg workouts help strengthen your quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors, glutes, and calves. A few lower body workouts include squats, lunges, deadlifts, knee extension and flexion exercises, jogging in one spot, calf raises, and jumping jacks.
