26Ideas Mumbai Walkathon 2025
26Ideas presents the Mumbai Walkathon 2025, marking a new chapter in mass participation sports. Scheduled for its inaugural edition on March 16, 2025, in Juhu, this event is a celebration of walking—an activity that is as ancient as it is modern, simple yet profoundly effective. Designed to inspire health-conscious Mumbaikars and sports enthusiasts, the Mumbai Walkathon aims to promote fitness, foster community spirit, and encourage a healthier lifestyle.
The walk will be flagged off from the Jamnabai Narsee School Ground, leading participants along an iconic route past Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, all the way to the scenic Juhu Beach, before looping back to the starting point. Participants can choose from three engaging categories tailored to different fitness levels: the 10 km Pro Walk, the 5 km Family Walk and the 3 km Fun Walk. The Mumbai Walkathon 2025 is more than just an event; it’s a movement towards a fitter, stronger, and more connected Mumbai.
Speaking about the initiative, Vinay Bhartia, Co-Founder, 26Ideas said, “Born from a simple purpose: if we could turn our most basic human activity into India’s biggest celebration of health joy and togetherness… that is what #JustWalkIndia is. The Walkathon is a carnival of connection, where every step tells a story and brings us closer to good health, joy, and unity. Remember when walking was just… “walking” We’re bringing back that simplicity, but with a twist of joy and community spirit.”
He further added, “#JustWalkIndia is a movement celebrating walking, community, diversity & health. It is not merely about the physical act of walking but about celebrating the personal stories, community connections, and the importance of a healthier lifestyle.”
K. Radhakrishnan, Co-Founder, 26 Ideas said, “Progress and wealth generation without health is meaningless. You cannot ‘outrun your diet,’ but you can walk your way to a healthier life. Walking 5 to 6 km daily—even in your car park—can transform one’s well-being. That is why I support #JustWalkIndia, a Walkathon that champions walking for better health.”
