Canadian singer-songwriter Danny Lamb has published a memoir, “Bass Clef On The Brain: Finding My Voice, Taking Off The Masks, And Learning to Love Myself,” chronicling his experience living with hydrocephalus since being diagnosed at age three. The book traces his path through a shunt failure and brain surgery at 14, a Rotary Exchange year in Brazil at 16, and his subsequent career as a touring musician, according to the announcement.

Lamb is the founder of the Danny Lamb School of Music and co-founder of A Song, A City, an initiative focused on amplifying the voices of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. He has performed alongside acts including Marianas Trench, Mother Mother, Fefe Dobson, Hollerado, Faber Drive, Honeymoon Suite and David Wilcox, and his work has been covered by the BBC, Global TV, CTV and CHCH, per the announcement.

The memoir was edited by Bev Hotchkiss of Backhouse Press & Collective. According to the announcement, a crowdfunded UK and Europe tour organized by A Song, A City was previously used as a case study in a college business communications textbook.
