Every Halloween, Michael Jackson’s legendary style and unforgettable music videos continue to inspire celebrities, influencers and fans around the world. From the iconic red leather jacket from “Thriller” to the futuristic outfits of “Scream”, Michael’s looks remain among the most recognisable in pop culture.
As Halloween 2026 approaches, MJVibe will once again bring you some of the most memorable celebrity tributes to Michael Jackson and his extraordinary legacy.
Keke Palmer and Her Son Recreate Michael and Janet Jackson’s “Scream”
Actress Keke Palmer has reunited with her son, Leodis “Leo” Jackson, for a special Halloween tribute to Michael Jackson and his sister Janet Jackson, recreating their iconic looks from the 1995 short film “Scream”.
Palmer transformed herself into Janet, sporting the singer’s distinctive spiky hairstyle and futuristic black outfit, while her young son channelled Michael with slicked-back hair and a matching dark ensemble. The photoshoot recreated the striking, space-inspired aesthetic of the original production, which remains one of the most visually ambitious music videos of the 1990s.
Sharing the photographs on Instagram, Palmer celebrated the special moment with her son, writing:
“Another memory with mommy and son! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BUDDY. ITS SO MUCH FUN PLAYING WITH YOU!”
She concluded her message with the playful words, “My SCREAM come true.”
Palmer also shared a video of herself performing dance moves inspired by “Scream”, while Leo enjoyed the moment from his chair with his iPad. Her humorous caption reflected the fun behind the scenes of their mother-and-son photoshoot.
Released in 1995, “Scream” brought Michael and Janet Jackson together in a powerful musical collaboration. Directed by Mark Romanek, the groundbreaking short film featured futuristic sets, striking black-and-white imagery and elaborate visual effects. Its production was famously reported to have cost around $7 million, making it one of the most expensive music videos ever made at the time.
Nearly three decades later, its distinctive visual style continues to inspire new generations, proving that the Jackson siblings’ influence extends far beyond their music.
For Keke Palmer and Leo, the tribute is also part of a continuing Halloween tradition. The pair have previously recreated famous characters and music-inspired looks, including Snoop Dogg and Bow Wow in 2025.
This year, however, their choice brings the spotlight back to Michael and Janet Jackson, celebrating one of their most memorable collaborations.
Jahmyr Gibbs Recreates Michael Jackson’s Iconic 1984 GRAMMY Awards Look
Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs paid tribute to Michael Jackson at the team’s Halloween party, recreating the King of Pop’s legendary look from the 1984 GRAMMY Awards.
Gibbs stepped out in a sparkling blue military-style jacket, sunglasses and a curly black wig, capturing the unmistakable style Michael wore during one of the most historic nights of his career. On February 28, 1984, Michael attended the 26th Annual GRAMMY Awards, where he made history by winning a record-breaking eight awards in a single night, largely thanks to the phenomenal success of his Thriller album.
The Detroit Lions star shared the Halloween celebrations with his teammates, with photographs of his costume quickly circulating on social media. His choice was a reminder that Michael’s iconic fashion moments remain instantly recognisable more than four decades later.
With Michael Jackson enjoying renewed attention in 2026, Gibbs’ costume is another example of how the King of Pop continues to inspire people across different generations and industries, including the world of professional American football.
