Ramayana is releasing in five major Indian languages on 5 November, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, but the highest collection has been recorded by the Kannada version, with Rs 3.58 crore, nearly 21 per cent of the overall gross collection. States such as Maharashtra with Rs 3.39 crore, and Delhi (Rs 3.08 crore) also contributed significantly, followed by Telangana, Gujarat, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, which contributed less than a crore each in overall pre-sales gross collection.

The film has generated approximately Rs 22 crore in advance ticket sales across three overseas markets; North America has contributed Rs 16.72 crore, accounting for 76 per cent of overseas pre-sales. The United Kingdom and Ireland have recorded Rs 2.36 crore, followed by Australia and New Zealand at roughly Rs 2.18 crore. The average ticket price is approximately Rs 1,700 overseas.

The film had an early screening on 27 October in Los Angeles, where viewers described it as an unprecedented cinematic spectacle, with some comparing it to The Lord of the Rings (2001).

“The closest comparison is Lord of the Rings, but even that doesn’t compare. It is grand, epic, and Rama’s character is just wow, wow. The cliffhanger is something that people can’t stop talking about,” an attendee of the early screening posted on X.

The invitation-only premiere was held in 3D at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. And viewers have praised Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of the Hindu deity, with some describing his performance as one of the film’s biggest strengths.

“The actor playing Prince Ram (Ranbir Kapoor) is some serious talent, moved to tears! An unforgettable experience,” one user wrote.

“Ranbir Kapoor was sublime; Yash was magnetic. One of this year’s most immersive cinematic experiences. A grand spectacle,” posted another.
