Vedam School of Technology acquires AlgoPrep to build India’s first AI-native tech curriculum, ET Government
With the integration of AlgoPrep’s smart learning infrastructure, Vedam is now positioned to offer one of the most future-ready Computer Science degrees in India—not just as a piece of paper, but as a launchpad for global tech careers.NEW DELHI: In a landmark development for India’s higher education sector, the Vedam School of Technology has acquired AlgoPrep, a popular AI-powered learning platform founded by former Microsoft and Google engineers. The acquisition aims to fuel Vedam’s bold vision of building the country’s first AI-native undergraduate curriculum—geared toward preparing students for the tech jobs of 2029 and beyond. The move marks a significant shift in how engineering, particularly Computer Science, is being reimagined in India. With traditional models often criticized for being outdated, Vedam is pioneering a hands-on, “build-first” approach to learning, aligning its curriculum with the realities of a rapidly evolving tech landscape dominated by AI, robotics, and cloud computing.
Redefining the Future of Engineering Education
Vedam launched its flagship 4-year on-campus B.Tech (Computer Science – AI) program earlier this year in partnership with a UGC-approved university. The institution has already gained national attention for its project-based pedagogy, where students build real products, work with mentors from top tech firms, and undergo six-month paid internships as part of their coursework.
“This is more than just an acquisition—it’s a transformation,” said Piyush Nangru, co-founder of Vedam School of Technology. “With AlgoPrep joining forces, we’re embedding AI deeply into the learning journey and developing not just coders, but confident, industry-ready engineers.”
What AlgoPrep Brings to the Table
Founded by Nishant Chahar (ex-Microsoft) and Subhesh Kumar (ex-Google), AlgoPrep has helped over 5,000 students land jobs at companies like Google, Deloitte, Atlassian, and MakeMyTrip. The platform is known for its AI-driven tools such as smart doubt solvers, personalized code reviews, adaptive learning paths, and mock interview engines.
“With Vedam, we now have the platform and vision to impact thousands more students at a deeper level,” said Nishant Chahar. His co-founder Subhesh Kumar added, “This isn’t just about combining products—it’s about setting a new national standard for engineering education in India.”
Learning, Reinvented
Vedam’s academic model includes over 50 real-world projects, access to India’s first AI-powered academic ecosystem, and even startup incubation support. Each student is equipped with a personal MacBook and mentored by professionals from top global tech companies, including MAANG (Meta, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google), it said.
With the integration of AlgoPrep’s smart learning infrastructure, Vedam is now positioned to offer one of the most future-ready Computer Science degrees in India—not just as a piece of paper, but as a launchpad for global tech careers, it said.
A New Definition of Engineering
This acquisition underlines Vedam’s core belief: that engineering education must evolve to meet the demands of tomorrow’s technologies and industries. In doing so, it hopes to inspire a generation of learners who are not just employable, but indispensable to the future of tech, the institute added.
