‘We Have To Show Control’

The Pakistani wicketkeeper batter Azam khan has received a health related advice from the former national team’s skipper Younis Khan. Azam Khan entered international cricket by playing against England in 2021. During his 14 T20I matches Azam Khan managed to score 88 runs while representing the Pakistani national team. The fitness problems that he faces make him a regular target of criticism because he comes from a cricket family headed by Moin Khan.

What Advice did Younis Khan Give Azam

“We all enjoy burgers – I do too – but as professional athletes, we have to show control. Diet and discipline are key at this level. If Azam Khan wants a long and successful career, fitness must be a top priority for him. There are no shortcuts,” Younis Khan told Pakistan media.

Why Did He Give Such Advice

The former Pakistani captain Younis Khan shared fitness and eating discipline advice with keeping batter Azam Khan to help him play internationallly longer. Since his T20I debut in 2021 against England Azam Khan has taken part in 14 matches for Pakistan yet managed to make only 88 runs. The criticism toward him persists despite his aggressive performances because he suffers from fitness problems and struggles to maintain discipline. Younis Khan stressed professional athletes need to exercise self-control even regarding their food decisions because he said “We all enjoy burgers – I do too – but as professional athletes we have to show control.”
