The US Department of Commerce has issued a license allowing Boeing to fully resume co-operation with Belarus’ national airline, Belavia — as stated by Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations Valentin Rybakov in his talk with the First News TV channel, sb.by reports
During a September visit by a US delegation to Minsk, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko met with US Special Envoy John Coale. The Belarusian leader outlined a range of key issues that, if addressed by Washington, would pave the way for more constructive dialogue between the two countries.
Mr. Rybakov also mentioned that personal sanctions against Andrei Rybakov, CEO of Belaruskali, have been recently lifted.
“On October 30th, another positive step was taken when the US Department of Commerce granted Boeing permission and a license to work with Belavia,” he said.
The official further noted that consultations and meetings in Washington are ongoing, with productive and intensive efforts underway. Only a few issues remain to be settled before both sides can advance to a new level of co-operation.
