The US is reportedly planning to request NATO allies to provide further funding and key weapons to Ukraine, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people close to the matter.

The request would focus on expanding funding to NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), according to officials who spoke to Bloomberg on condition of anonymity.

The reported US support for Ukraine comes amid flaring tensions between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Trump accused Zelensky of prolonging the war.

“He could have made a better deal two years ago,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social in October.

The report follows NATO’s approval of Ukraine’s purchase of weapons, ammunition and other military assets through NATO, and after US approval of a $2.1 billion sale of Patriot missiles to Ukraine as its air defenses reached critically low supply.

“Discussions will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian efforts, and next steps toward peace,” Witkoff announced in a post on X/Twitter.

Witkoff also added that US negotiators would meet with European diplomats from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the EU, and NATO to “discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s post-war security architecture, and economic opportunities to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.”

Russia continues its offensive in Ukraine as the country’s air defenses continue to be exhausted.

Russian forces on Monday bombed a school being used as an aid distribution point in a village in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, killing 26 people, Zelensky and the country’s emergency services said.

The emergency services said two members of a rescue crew and four police officers were among the dead in the village of Komyshuvakha. Five people were being treated for injuries, including two rescue workers.
