Swiss institutional brokerage CRX Trade has launched a platform designed to let hedge funds and trading firms access crypto exchanges and traditional US markets through a single account.

The Zug-based company said clients could trade across 10 connected venues, including Binance, Bybit, Gate, Hyperliquid and Deribit, alongside CME Group and Nasdaq.

CoinRoutes provides the technology behind the platform, which combines execution, collateral management and custody within one brokerage relationship.

According to CRX Trade, the model aims to address the separate infrastructure institutions typically use when trading across digital assets and traditional markets. A fund holding bitcoin on a crypto exchange, for example, may also need separate collateral and accounts to trade through traditional brokers.

Through CRX Trade, institutional clients can instead post assets including bitcoin, stablecoins and tokenised gold into a single collateral pool, which is continuously revalued against market prices. Client assets are held in separate institutional wallets, with a distinct address for each client and trading permissions kept separate from withdrawals.

The platform also gives clients access to financing from independent third-party lenders, although CRX Trade does not lend its own capital.

Eamon Comerford, MD of RAS Capital GmbH, operator of CRX Tradem said: “Professional investors increasingly see digital assets and traditional securities as one opportunity set, but the infrastructure has not kept pace.

“CRX Trade closes that gap by giving institutions broader market access, coordinated collateral and a single framework through which to manage their positions.”

Connecting crypto and traditional markets

Tokenised equities have gathered pace during 2026 with the latest CoinDesk Data revealing on-chain trading volumes reached a record $15.6billion in September, up 16.4 per cent during the month. Activity in regulated crypto derivatives has also grown, with CME Group also reporting average daily crypto futures and options volume of 250,000 contracts in the second quarter, up 32 per cent year on year. The exchange also moved its cryptocurrency futures and options to 24/7 trading at the end of May.

CRX Trade said its infrastructure could enable clients to run strategies across both types of venue without maintaining entirely separate trading arrangements. This includes trading products such as oil, gold or equity perpetuals against tokenised equivalents, either on the same venue or across different exchanges, with trades spanning multiple venues executed as a single order and reported as one position.

Built on CoinRoutes technology

CoinRoutes provides the order execution, portfolio and risk management technology behind the platform, with its software included as part of the CRX Trade brokerage relationship rather than requiring a separate licence. Its technology supports algorithmic execution across different digital asset markets, including strategies that place each side of a trade on a different exchange, and has handled more than $700billion in lifetime notional volume.

CoinRoutes CEO Ian Weisberger said: “Hedge funds are already running strategies that straddle crypto and traditional markets, but their capital is still split across separate accounts, separate providers and separate risk systems.

“Equity funds have long had a single prime relationship that handles all of that. CRX Trade brings that model to digital assets, and we’re proud to see our technology at the centre of it.”

CoinRoutes has widened its market coverage during 2026, adding tokenised equities through xStocks, access to Bitstamp by Robinhood and options trading on Deribit.

RAS Capital GmbH, a Swiss financial intermediary and VQF member, operates CRX Trade. It does not hold a banking or securities firm licence, and CRX Trade limits its services to professional and institutional clients.
