Mike and Zara Tindall possess a staggering net worth despite maintaining that the royal family doesn’t offer them financial support. The couple, who celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary earlier this year, are said to boast a combined fortune of £30million thanks to their respective sporting careers and entrepreneurial ventures.

The King’s niece is an accomplished equestrian who won a silver medal in eventing at the London 2012 Olympics and was once named BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

On top of her athletic accolades, Zara has enjoyed long-term endorsements with high-end brands, including a reported £1m deal with clothing company Musto. She’s also been a brand ambassador for Land Rover and Rolex for 20 years, with both deals coming in the same year she won the individual eventing world title at Aachen.

Mike, who turned 48 years old on Sunday, wrote himself into rugby folklore as part of the England squad that won the 2003 World Cup. The triumph was one of several high points in his 17-year professional career.

In the midst of his career, Mike set up Kimble Trading Limited, which manages his lucrative speaking engagements and media work. The rugby legend’s stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2022 earned him around £150,000, and he has signed numerous sponsorship deals with companies including Pueris CBD, Domino’s and Amazon Prime.

He’s also entered the podcast space in recent years, co-hosting The Good, The Bad & The Rugby with former team-mate James Haskell and broadcaster Alex Payne. The trio also came together to make a splash in the beverage industry when creating the rugby-themed Black Eye Gin brand.

The duo’s considerable earnings mean that they don’t need to rely on financial assistance from the monarchy. Prior to his appearance in Channel 4’s The Jump in 2015, Mike said: “They don’t give us any money. We look after ourselves.”

Mike and Zara both come from competitive backgrounds, and it seems that the determination to win has rubbed off on their children, Mia, Lena and Lucas. While appearing at the Henley Literature Festival, Mike revealed that his kids will “ankle tap” each other when racing to bed.

“Even if it’s just a race upstairs to bed, there will be ankle taps. It might lead to a broken leg one day, but they will learn. Hopefully, the children will turn out like us,” he said in quotes obtained by The Mail. “And if they are as competitive as their mother, then we are all f****d!”
